SUNSHINE!

Had the day off yesterday! and… IT WAS GORGEOUS OUT! thank goodness!

Went on my first horse ride! With Butch! thank goodness he was such a good horse. a little impatient.. but i can relate.

Went with Rhet, Steve, and Ron. Took the horses down to the Snake River. The dam was opened up a few days ago and the water is high and fast. The river guides said the run that was taking them 3 hours when i got here is currently taking 1 hour.

The sunshine also brought out the hummingbirds.

:o)

    Got this from Weather.com – Severe Weather Alert

    THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

    * A PORTION OF NORTHWEST WYOMING…INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
    AREAS…JACKSON HOLE AND TETON AND GROS VENTRE MOUNTAINS.

    * THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON

    * RAINFALL AND SNOW MELT OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS HAS LED TO INCREASED RUNOFF INTO AREA CREEKS AND STREAMS…WHICH HAVE FLOWED INTO AREA RIVERS. CREEK AND RIVER LEVELS HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY RISEN AS A RESULT.

    * THE SNAKE RIVER AT MOOSE AND JACKSON WAS NEAR BANKFULL EARLY
    WEDNESDAY MORNING. BOTH RIVER POINTS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN NEAR
    BANKFULL TODAY. INCREASED RESERVOIR RELEASES FROM JACKSON DAM WILL KEEP THE SNAKE RIVER AT VERY HIGH LEVELS…AND COULD EVEN PUSH RIVER LEVELS HIGHER ALONG THE SNAKE RIVER. OTHER CREEKS AND STREAMS IN THE AREA…WILL ALSO BE RUNNING HIGH AND SWIFT…AND COULD DEVELOP MINOR FLOODING.

    &&

    A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
    CURRENT FORECASTS.

    RIVER RAFTERS SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION NAVIGATING THE RIVER
    DURING VERY HIGH FLOWS. MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR
    POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING
    SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
